Journey Through Traditions

Revitalization of the Traditional Saurashtra Silk Weaving Community at Madurai, Tamil Nadu

Yogesh presented his thesis at the COA National Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis 2026 – Zone 5, held at MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai. The event featured 110 B.Arch thesis entries across two award categories from architecture colleges in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The proposal celebrates Madurai's Saurashtra silk-weaving heritage through a cultural precinct that connects artisans, weavers and the public. Spaces for weaving, learning, exhibitions, craft markets, performances and community events bring craft, culture and architecture together.
